Adverse Action Letter
This is a letter (also known as a Notice), either hand delivered or sent via the mail, that states the fact that no credit has been issued to you as a result of you applying for credit.
This letter should be be generated and issued to you when:
- You are denied the credit you applied for
- You declined the credit terms you have been approved for and the finance company did not extend credit to you on the terms you wanted
Typically these letters (notices) will be written in general terms, describing the basis of why you did not receive credit and suggesting you to contact the credit bureau if have concerns.
